It's almost a tradition for me now to hike Mt Washington (6288 ft/1916.6 m) on or near the 4th of July. This year I joined a group of hikers from the Boston Hiking Group. A few of us drove to the White Mountains on Thursday, July 3, and camped at the White Birches Campground. On Friday, July 4, we had an early start and went up
the Boott Spur trail, which circles the Tuckerman Ravine on the left side. This year there was a lot more snow in the Tuckerman Ravine than
in the last 3 years, you can even see it from route 16, and we spotted a few people skiing downhill on that patch of snow. The weather was
spectacular all day long and we ended up not needing our rain gear or fleece. Overall, an awesome hike and a great company. Thanks to
everyone for coming to play!
